Before installing your new AirCells, completely read the instructions. Any questions you may have, feel free to call AirCell Engineering's customer service department at (865-681-6365).
-
Always start with a clean motorcycle. Place motorcycle on a stand to lift the front wheel off the ground.
-
Remove the front number plate/headlight assembly.
-
If necessary, loosen bolts on the top and bottom triple clamps and turn the fork tubes so the fork cap vent screws are located either in the front of, or behind the handlebars.
-
Remove the fork cap vent screws. Save the vent screws in case you sell your motorbike and want to remove the AirCells to put on your next motorcycle. Clean any debris that may be under the fork cap screws.
-
Install the supplied stainless steel fork cap fittings into the bleeder screw holes. Do not over tighten this fitting - just finger tight and then turn only 1/3 of a turn. Excessive tightening may damage the thread portion or deform the gasket and o-ring. Make sure the fittings are not touching the handlebars or interfering with any controls.
-
Install the AirCels behind the number plate/headlight assembly, in-between the top and bottom triple clamp. Attach to the fork tubes using the supplied Aluminum Brackets. Make sure the Air Cells are in a location that does not interfere with any side-to-side movement of the handlebars, control cables or ignition box.
-
Install the high-pressure tubing, determine the proper length to be cut. Cut the tubing using a single edge razor blade or a box cutter type blade. Do not cut the tubing with pliers, nippers, scissors, etc., otherwise, the tube will be deformed and
could leak air/oil.
First connect the equalization line, push the tubing into the black 90 elbows on top of each AirCel until they stop. One end of the tubing will be inserted into the black 90 elbow fitting on top of one AirCell and the other end of the tubing will be inserted into the other black 90 elbow on top of the other AirCell.
-
Next, slowly push another section of tubing into the quick connect stainless steel fork cap fitting. The other end of the tubing will be inserted into the Air Compression Damping Valve (off-white colored) on top of the AirCells. Pull the tubing back gently to make sure it has a positive seal. Repeat this procedure for the other side. Insufficient installation may cause air leakage or tube releasing. To release the tubing, push in evenly on the collar of the fittings and pull the tubing out. If the collar is not held down, the tube cannot be withdrawn. To re-use the tubing, cut off the previously lodged portion of the tubing, then re-install. See your local dealer or call AirCell's customer service (865-681-6365) to purchase additional tubing or fittings. Again, route the tubing so that it does not interfere with any controls or cables. Turn the handlebars from side to side to check for any restrictions.
-
Double-check all your work. Make sure the AirCells are fastened securely to the fork tubes.
You are ready to ride!!!
